Chinese SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International) and California-based Cadence Design Systems have entered into collaboration to roll out PDKs (Process Design Kit) integrated with Cadence's technology in China. By the end of 2006, SMIC will make available the CMOSRF 180nm PDK supporting Cadence's RF design methodology kit. Both companies believe the CMOSRF 180nm PDK will be able to help Chinese wireless chip designers shorten design cycles and fulfill design goals. SMIC and Cadence will jointly offer customers training and workshops to the aforementioned purpose.
